Focus on the Night Sky

I’m not an astronomer by any stretch of the imagination, but living in close proximity to an observatory has piqued my interest in celestial bodies. I attended a few free viewings at the observatory this spring, but the long lines began to put a damper on an otherwise pleasant night out. Once inside the observatory the experience really picked up - a local college professor explained what we could see through the high-powered telescope.
I finally brought along a pair of compact binoculars to pass the time in line. They fit easily in the pocket of a light jacket and helped break up the monotony. They allowed me to study a few of the moon’s features and to take a closer look at Orion’s belt. The binoculars gave me an increased knowledge of the night sky and made me want to attend many more sessions at the observatory.

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

When you are out there in the woods, you need to have a high level of visibility. This is the only way for you to bag your game. Here are a few good characteristics of efficient sport binoculars:

1. They have to be lightweight. You wouldn’t want to be slowed down by heavy equipment, and that especially goes for stuff that goes around your neck. 2. They have to have a sturdy carrying case. That will prevent scratches and breakage. 3. They have to have clear lenses. Scratchproof lenses are ideal too. 4. They have to have different levels of magnification. Sport binoculars that let you adjust their magnification are a very handy hunting tool. 5. They should have an easy-to-grip design. That way, you will be saved from dropping them due to sweaty palms.

Electronic Scales

There are so many electronic scales out there that it is already difficult to choose. But in all things, I know I should go for quality and price. That was what I have learned from being in business for several years now.

Our greengrocer store has been doing quite well, even with the appearance of a chain store nearby. Our produce is still the best, I say. But now I have to upgrade my equipment, including an electronic scale, just to keep up with the times.
