Make sure that you have a list before packing your camping gear. It will be a little hard to improvise on your equipment and supplies when you have forgotten an important item or two. A list will also ensure that you are not bringing more things that will not be necessary for the trip.
A tent and sleeping bags should be at the top of your list. Cooking equipment is usually next. Camping lanterns and flashlights are important as well. A good knife should be in your list too. First aid supplies are very important too since you could be miles away from the nearest clinic or hospital. Portable showers are great luxuries to have in the outdoors as well.
